Therapeutic & Restorative Yoga Classes based on Alignment Sequences that Increase Your Range & Freedom of Motion

Methods Information & Background

Therapeutic Yoga features restorative sequences based on adjusted alignment and strong emphasis on increasing range of motion and release by using sandbags, bolsters and blankets synchronized with breath work. This is a safe and effective practice to release tension, resolve your holding patterns and feel less restriction in your body. Suitable for those living with chronic health conditions or prefer to go deeper into their practice. Click on Yoga Classes above for information on which classes maybe the best for you.

Taking regular time out to relax and renew is essential to living well. Restorative Yoga is a powerful tool to reduce stress and restore health; to balance systems and turn on your body’s natural healing capacity. The focus of this class is to gently lengthen and rehabilitate connective tissue that forms around the joints. We use simple breathing techniques to soothe and tone your organs, strengthen your respiratory and immune system and calm your mind. This is a relaxing and rejuvenating class to soothe your nervous system, quiet your mind and release deeply held tension. My teaching style is to support your poses with alignment adjustments that enhance range of motion and cultivate flexible muscle tone. We use a variety of props, including bolsters, straps, blocks, sandbags and blankets, to support and stabilize the body. This helps to promote renewal of the body and mind and release dysfunctional holding patterns.

Each Yoga Session explores inversions which reverses the effects of gravity, improves circulation, nourishes the organs, soothes the nervous system and refreshes the skin cells in the face. Inversions reduce fluid retention & fatigue. Time spent upside down is one of the best things you can do for yourself. Restorative Yoga is a wonderful way to incorporate self-care into your life and generate the energy you need. This is an active relaxation designed around cultivating a space for reflection and mind/body awareness.
